So, we all know Obama is really cool. For someone occupying the office of the President of the United States of America, he is really laid-back and as shown several times, that he loves music and poetry.

On the April 11, 2016, he tweeted his summer music playlist, both for the daytime and the nighttime. Below was what he tweeted:

The entire Twitter community went wild. Nigerians on Twitter were especially delighted to see two popular musicians of Nigerian descent on the list.
Wale
At number one, we see the song ‘LoveHate Thing’ by Wale. Wale is Yoruba, never mind that his name is pronounced like some foreign name now. He was born, Olubowale Victor Akintimehin on September 21, 1984. Wale rose to fame in 2006, when his song “Dig Dug (Shake It)” became popular in his hometown. The song Obama loves is from his album ‘Gifted’ released in 2013. His parents are from southwestern Nigeria and came to the United States from Austria in 1979. Wale’s family first lived in Northwest, Washington, D.C., before moving to Montgomery County, when Wale was 10 years-old. He graduated from the Quince Orchard High School in Gaithersburg, Maryland in 2002 and later moved to Largo, Maryland in Prince George’s County.
Jidenna
With his song ‘Classic man’ at number 7. Jidenna’s coming of age song, has more than made a name for itself. Born Jidenna Theodore Mobisson on May 4, 1985, Jidenna is a Nigerian-American recording artist signed to Wondaland Records. In 2015, Jidenna released two singles, “Classic Man” and “Yoga”, promoting the label’s compilation EP The Eephus. He has been signed to the Janelle MonĂ¡e’s label for a while. Jidenna’s father Oliver Mobisson is a Nigerian Igbo academic. Jidenna grew up partially in Nigeria, where his father was a professor of Computer Science at Enugu state university. In 2008, after graduating with a Bachelor of Arts degree, he pursued his music career full-time, moving between Los Angeles, Oakland, Brooklynand Atlanta. Jidenna has said that his major influences in music include KRS-One and Big Daddy Kane. Also on Obama’s playlist we see ‘So Ambitious’ – Jay Z feat Pharell, and we wonder if the president who is the king of cool still has any other ambitions after he leaves the White House.
